Wet Trimmer 1.1 (WT1.1)

The Monkey Stuff Wet Trimmer (WT1.1) is designed to help remove excess wet clay from the bases of pots before the pot is removed from the wheel. Unlike some other methods for cleaning up the base of wet pots, such as using a knife to slice material away from the pot and a needle tool to separate it from the wheel head, with the right technique the WT1.1 can do this in a single motion.

You may have seen potters on YouTube doing this with a dull dry trimming tool. The WT1.1 is purpose-built for this task. The trimming blade is blunted so that it won’t damage your bats or wheel, and angled at 60 degrees for easy maneuvering around a wide range of forms.

Recently updated based on studio use, the WT1.1 now features a slightly shorter, blunter tip for improved control and durability.

The blade itself, made from 1/8" thick 304 stainless steel, is thicker than a typical trimming tool, helping push material down and away from the pot.
