Handling Tool - (HT1)

We make a lot of pots with handles at Monkey Stuff, mostly mugs, but also tea pots, jugs, vases, and other sorts of handled vessels. Always looking to streamline our work, we designed the Handling Tool to help us with three tasks we do over and over again when attaching handles to pots: trimming handle blanks to length; scoring the pot and the blanks before we dab them with slip and attach them; and getting the top and bottom of the handles spaced and aligned correctly. The handling tool has a scoring tool on one end, a blunted trimming knife on the other, and a ruled straightedge along its spine. The scoring tool is our favorite among many that we’ve tried and gives you a ton of control in the scoring process. The knife will go through your handle blanks like butter, but not your fingers or your work surface. And the ruled straightedge will help you make sure that your handles are aligned well and consistently spaced. Made in the USA, the HT1 is laser cut from 0.06” 304 stainless steel and finished by hand.
